How do individuals who opt out of media environments like Twitter factor into your work? These individuals may reject certain affective politics-friendly channels for primarily affective reasons (e.g., vicarious or experienced displeasure, shame, fear) - possibly representing a form of endogeneity.

As an extension of above, I wonder if it is possible the same (types of) people who are drawn to platforms like Twitter are the same people who would have written op-eds and letters to the editor, or even given speeches on soap boxes in decades past.
