fixes issue #20，#24，#37

Lisa fixed #20, #24, #37 Patrick began implementing a fix for input lag ( issue #9 ) but got really lost and stopped Patrick fixed #27, #24, and #30, but the changes caused a crash when finding treasures, Patrick removed the offending code, but left the working parts in.
