cgp-dashboard-service (and perhaps other repos belonging to the original platform) is written in Python 2.7. But support will phase out for 2.7 in 2020, and many large Python packages will stop supporting it as well.
Given the central role cgpdashboardservice plays with respect to the group's grants and collaborations, it is time to think about a schedule to migrate the code base to Python 3.x.
