Seems legit. I am a bit worried about using the precious single letter of lower-case "b". I checked that we do not use it for "bit". I have not exhaustively checked if we don't have it for something else.
Action item: search the literature for any other serious uses of a unit symbol "b" for anything else. Check what IUPAC or IUB has to say about that.
