Is it possible to make the search field inactive until the user hits "enter?"

seems like a good idea. or at least make it have a delay of a few seconds so 
that it try to filter after each letter.

Made it to search only after  ENTER  is pressed (deployed in eccpxt-beta).
The code is committed to the repository.

If its not better you can always revert to the previous version (in the 
repository) and I'll work on it more when I am back from vacation.
