Can't change order of the menu bar item #215

Hello there,

i'd like to place the menu bar item next to the clock in the menu bar. But unlikly like other menu bar items I cannot cmd-click the item to drag it on a other place. Sometimes the Pomodoro timer is overlapped with with a menu (e.g. keynote has plenty).

It would be nice to do that =)

Hi Alex, this is one of my pet-peeves... it was in the plan years ago but unfortunately moving a status bar item is "impossible": only Apple apps can do that, using a private API. It is true that with some magic you can gain access to these APIs (and indeed there are some non Apple apps that can do that), but using private API is one of the no-nos of the Store: I did a preliminary version and it was in git somewhere in the pre-macstore versions, then I deleted it to avoid rejections. So now the only hope is Lion ...

Thanks for your explanation. Hopefully Apple will make these APIs public...
