What about migration to asterisk 1.8? it has a lot of interesting features like 
compatibility and integration with google voice.

This ticket was added before 1.8 release. I think the migration will be 
immediately on the 1.8. The date of migration not known yet.

backported func_pitchshift to 1.6.2.22

1.8.9.2 also compatible but worse performance
