1st round of edits: Spellcheck (using Grammarly) and soft re-write of the checklist. No changes to the content yet.

No one has been reviewing this, but the onboarding is happening soon. Will merge the pull request myself. Please take a look afterwards and fix.

I had a quick glance and it looks good to me. it has become a big list, which may scare off people, but on the other hand, at least it's all there!
