This conflicts with #23 ; should we split our team or decide on which one to prioritise?

Ooops, well spotted!

Will try to move the ECA meeting. The week is still only the best match that I was planning to propose for the ECA Zoom on 29th February and for the Nodes Steering Group on 1st February. So should still be possible to move.

cjandrew commented 6 months ago

My calendar is already marked for the BioDT Annual Meeting. I plan to attend, but am open to in-person or digital, contingent on availability of BioDT funds.

I have no plans to attend the GBIF ECA meeting -- does not apply to me.

dagendresen commented 6 months ago

I think that in-person attendance at the BioDT annual meeting is much more effective than virtual participation. And that all of us that are able to attend in-person should try to do so.

We have unfortunately exploded our travel budget (with TDWG etc), but I am sure that joining internal project meetings must be ok anyway. And our total remaining budget is still very good!

ErikKusch commented 6 months ago

I believe my contributions of new communication platforms and strategies would be best received and have the greatest impact at the GBIF nodes meeting. So maybe @dagendresen and I ought to prioritise the GBIF nodes meeting whereas @cjandrew and @DesalegnChala represent us at the BioDT meeting?

Hiya,

the registration for the meeting is open now and we have to chose from a number of parallel sessions. I reckon it might be useful to distribute ourselves such that we can share what has been discussed across the sessons with each other afterwards. To facilitate this, I paste the sessions here:

Day 1: image

Day 2: image

I am planning to attend the following sessions:

Could you share which sessions you are planning to attend, @cjandrew , @dagendresen , and @DesalegnChala ?

dagendresen commented 3 months ago

I have added this table up top:

Day Parallel session Attending
Day 1 Outreach and promotion of pDTs (WP2 lead)
Day 1 pDT afterlife (WP8 lead) Dag, Erik
Day 1 Training materials (WP7 lead)
Day 2 Collaboration with other DTs and DestinE (WP8 lead)
Day 2 Modelling (WP6 lead) Erik
Day 2 Data streams and FAIR (WP4 & WP5 lead) Dag
Day 2 Technical Architecture (WP3 lead)
DesalegnChala commented 3 months ago

I am registered for Training materials Day 1 and collaboration with other DTS day 2

cjandrew commented 3 months ago

Day 1 it does not really matter which I attend, it can be Outreach if no one else (e.g., Cathy) is going.

Day 2 I will need to be in Data streams and FAIR (WP4 & WP5 lead).

HI All,

this is my itinerary I just booked for this trip:

dagendresen commented 3 months ago

Thanks! I have now booked the same flight and hotel.

cjandrew commented 2 months ago

@ErikKusch & @dagendresen , How did you get Berg-Hansen to show the hotel? I can only get it to show places near the airport.

Never mind, I could find by searching / buying the flights and hotel separately. @DesalegnChala , maybe helpful for you to know?

dagendresen commented 2 months ago

I also bought the flights first and added hotel after finishing booking flights - but to the same "travel" in Berg-Hansen. I found the hotel by making a larger search area of 50 km around the airport :-)
