Improve docs #19

  1. update README to actually say how to build the code now
  2. get tests running the same workflow as the README

the imprint stage unconditionally turns solids into compounds, so have gone with the minimal change of allowing the loading code to load a compound of compounds

this makes things work, but it might be worth turning this around so that the shapes coming back from imprinting are "simplified" to be either a solid or a compsolid
