It also happens when enabling "enable inbound connections" and "dual apps support". I dont know what's going on, but I'm hoping this can be resolved soon. Play Store already wont refund, and if I wait more than a few days then my credit card company will probably refuse a chargeback too.
I've uploaded a short video to demonstrate the issue. I start with uninstalling the apps, followed by installing both AFWall and the unlocker from Play Store (to show that they're not pirated/modified). You'll also see that I force stopped AFWall twice. This is to show that the bug doesnt appear immediately after toggling options, but after the app is fully loaded into memory. By force stopping, they are cleared from RAM. At first, I didnt notice the invisible list bug until after rebooting.
I can replicate this bug on both my Note 20 Ultra and Tab S7 Plus. They are both running rooted stock Android 13 firmware.
So, today I temp installed a custom ROM on one of my devices. LineageOS 20/Android 13, rooted with Magisk. I followed exactly the same steps shown in my demo video, but couldnt reproduce the bug there. So it seems to be happening only on the stock firmwares. However, I did encounter a new bug on LOS that doesnt occur on either of the stock firmwares, that AFWall crashes constantly when I enable the logging service. No matter how many times I tap the app icon after that, AfWall opened for a second then immediately crashed.
As of right now I've seen enough, so when Monday comes around I'm probably going to call the CC company and file a dispute.
Today I bought the AFWall unlocker key from Play Store. And installed the free AFWall app. I opened it, was configuring things in the preferences menu, then went back to AFWall main screen where the list of apps is supposed to be shown. But it's empty (black), no apps/processes are visible. Part of the UI is there, like the icons for WIFI/mobile data, the 3 dots dropdown menu. It's just the app list that's empty. At first I thought it had something to do with the black theme, so I reverted to default theme, but the issue persists. I think it has something to do with toggling the "show all apps" option in UI Preferences to checked, because as soon as i toggle it off and force stop/restart the app, the list of apps comes back.
At this point I'm already irate about this. I'd like a refund, but Play Store refuses to give me one for an app that I bought less than 3 hrs ago, it just says that this purchase isnt eligible for a refund. Seems like $9.99 down the drain. I'd just move on and uninstall it if it were a 100% free app, but that's not the case.
