This is an interesting one to follow, and wait for an official response.
I guess that due to the distance through the ceiling, there is enough distance and signal loss for it to be ignored.
@cooperj - I’d expect the opposite, the distance between the actual floor of the flat above and the actual floor beneath would be less than 4m in most flats. Given the same layout of flats you could expect that people could be within that 4m distance for periods of 5m at a time, triggering the proximity.

The whole system works of distance of the bluetooth signal, how does this work in a block of flats where it may think I am in close proximity to the person upstairs when I never actually see them.
