The mainboard schematic shows D1 (polarity protection) to be a 1N5401 or similar.
That part is too large for the board.
A suitable alternative would be a 1N5197, 1N5818 or 1N5819 Schottky barrier diode.
Smaller rectifier diodes such as the 1N4001 will also work just fine.
Note that none of these parts is going to be happy with a full on short across the supply.
D1 has been resized and move in V1.3 (kicad)
