As discussed on basicengine-forum, there seems to be a key-missmatch within the german keyboard-layout in firmware V0.90-285-g6accb.
After setting the keyboard-layout to german on a fresh install of bespoke firmware - nothing else was configured - pressing shift + z produces a capital "Y" instand of "Z" and vice versa.
