Stop using source folder system as cache directory #59

We have a series of folders where we put caches and whatnot, but we intermingle them with source code. These things should be separate.

Although this would be nice-to-have, I think it's appropriate given that we're in such a developmental stage right now. The pros outweigh the cons. So let's just keep it as-is unless this becomes an issue.
