An intuitive software erector kit targeted at people new to programming, but with enough potential to stay useful once they've learned, inspired by HyperCard.
Have to be able to paste movies or movie files, control playback position, speed, pause etc. They must correctly be embedded in the document or reference external files. Must be able to set natural or skewed size, show controls (system-standard or if those are too ugly something like QuickTime X which users consider system standard).
59 now adds showing movies in stack canvas, and we can also now drag movie files in the canvas to add them to a stack. We have a decent-looking system-supplied controller on OS X 10.11 that we can show/hide. You can also provide a file path, file URL or HTTP URL as the "movie" for a movie player part to reference an external file.
Missing:
referencing internal movies properly. Right now you have to set the property in script to the name of a media entry. We need a media picker in the inspector and a consistent way to distinguish between media ID, media name, and path/URL.
Add property to tell movie player to skew the movie
Allow changing speed
Verify play/pause are scriptable and allow you to loop a movie.
