It is a convention to force-push to generated gh-pages. See, e.g., the TravisCI documentation: https://docs.travis-ci.com/user/deployment/pages/

• [x] enforce force-overwrite to gh-pages
• [ ] check whether the configuration local_dir makes our deploy.sh obsolete.
