As of 1st June 2021, UH VPN will no longer be available to new users without an Enterprise subscription as we are switching to focus exclusively on our enterprise customers. Current customers will all be notified by email shortly after this post is made live.
Why is this happening?
Since launch, UH VPN has grown rapidly. We've created bespoke custom brandable native applications for all major platforms, created custom images for AWS and Digital Ocean making setting up our server package extremely simple and easy, and created a specialised DPI evasion engine to increase our connectivity in regions with Internet censorship.
We want to make sure that our customers get the best possible experience with UH VPN, and we know that the best way to do this is through our Enterprise plan. We've seen significant interest and growth in this area, and as a result have decided to focus all of our developmental resources towards that so we can continue to deliver the high quality product we have always sought to create.
The main reasons for closing the public signup are as follows:
Vendors of cryptographic software in the UK have to keep strict records detailing to whom their software has been sold to. We have had numerous cases within UH VPN where fake details have been supplied or false card details have been used which makes this task very arduous and hard to maintain.
The non-enterprise users of UH VPN make up less than 1% of the revenue that UH VPN produces.
We have experienced many users who defraud our system by using fake credit card details which cannot be charged, thus getting away with free UH VPN usage.
What happens to existing non-enterprise groups?
All existing non-enterprise groups will have to be switched to an enterprise plan or terminated by 1st May 2021.
