Question

Can I use polygon annotation to train Yolov5 for object detection?

Additional

I am wondering if we can use polygon annotation to train an object detection model will it perform better that rectangle annotation?. is it possible to train Yolov5 with polygon annotation?

@ExtReMLapin yes, YOLOv5 supports polygonal segmentation annotations for object detection. You can use polygon annotation to train the model, and it may offer more precise detection than rectangle annotation in certain scenarios. You can refer to the Ultralytics documentation for detailed guidance on using polygon annotation for training. Good luck with your training!
