Line feeds in .txt files #1

I found an issue with the way you have created the txtfiles in the UEO mod. Your txt editor is not using hard line feeds.

On the campaign selection screen there was a blank campaign #6 listed but no campaign006 in the campaigns.txt file. After I recreated the campaigns.txt so that each campaign appeared on its own line, the missing campaign006 error disappeared and I was able to press the start button to advance to the next screen. I am sure the same problem exists in the single mission summary file as well.

If you used the same editor settings to create all of the control files this may be an issue in every single mod control file. I don't know this is the case as I am excited to be able to get past the START button but haven't actually tried to advance any further yet. After I grab another cup of coffee topped up with a big glug of Bailey's, I'll try to get the Dawn of the UEO campaign to actually start.

If you'd don't hear more from me, then I was successful and the only two files that need to be corrected as the mission/campaign summary files, otherwise, I'll be back and you will probably need to insert hard line feeds in all of the txt file withins the mod.

Everything in \ColdWaters_Data\StreamingAssets\override\language_en\mission looks good, summary and briefings all with the proper line feed

Still can't start any of the single missions or get past the select the save game name in a campaign. The debugging continues...

There are lots of control files that are all buggered up with formatting errors. If I try and cut & paste examples here, my editor correctly translates the soft line feeds and they get pasted properly. However, in the actual textfile within the mod all the lines are runon sentences and I am sure this is confusing the game.

I am going to see if I can figure out a way to load these files and resave them properly.

I probably have to give up at this point. Still cannot figure out what is different with this mod than the others that play without a problem.

I reformatted a whole bunch of txt files, took out all the single player missions except one, couldn't get it to work. I can't get past the save game selection screen in either UEO campaign. I'm pretty much out of ideas.

The author claims this mod requires steam - what does that mean? What is it about this mod that requires steam? The other mods don't have this requirement. I can see nothing in the config files pointing to any part of the steam engine.

I'm guessing at this point that there is some hard coded game / mod incompatibility.

I gather this mod is working for some but not others and it's driving me nuts as to why.

Just in case it helps, I'm running CW v1.15c

As a final note, with the UEO override directory present, I can load no training missions, no original single missions and none of the original 3 campaigns. If I remove the UEO override directory, everything works as normal. If I put another mode such as Campaign 2004 in place, no issues.

There is something unique about UEO that I haven't figured out yet that effects the play-ability of all missions on my system.
