Search for new songs results in a crash/coredump #52

When I start WP - then navigate to and click Search for new songs the program becomes unresponsive or crashes shortly after. Sometimes (not always) it gives:

double free or corruption (out)

on terminal.

Arch Linux, x86_64, compiled from https://github.com/ultrastares/ultrastar-worldparty/commit/ebc3fe9c60d0747bb0f4edba2b46b73777440032

I, too, have this on the lastest version. I get nothing in the terminal output. I'm using Debian Bullseye

I can't reproduce this error, the menu option works fine in all my Linux versions. Have you tried with F5 key or using other/less/more songs or using songs in other directory? I need more info to know what are happening

jiminorris commented 3 years ago

I've done a little digging on my side and it seems to be related to either the case-sensitive nature of filenames on Linux, or non-standard characters in the .txt files.

I discovered that it does matter which song you have activated when right clicking and choosing "Search for new songs". Also tried to make a debug build but failed :disappointed:

I asked you in my last message: press F5 key works??? I suppose that fails too, but I need your confirmation.

@jose1711 what is the artist and title of the song that fails when you try to search for new songs?

jose1711 commented 3 years ago

F5 seems to be safe. I was unable to locate a specific song that could be causing this. Actually I am starting to suspect the compiler more and more. New message:

malloc(): corrupted top size
