I think you should be more concerned if the numbers are lower than GA. That said, minus the people using adblockers (which are a lot these days) there is some potential double counting since umami does not track users with cookies. If the same user visits your site on 3 different browsers, that would be considered 3 unique visitors to umami. Page views should be more accurate. You can query your database to see the exact timestamps and urls collected.
Hi @mikecao I was just reading about ad blockers stats and I am shocked! I had no idea they were so popular these days! No wonder there's a big difference there. :)
Thanks!
Hi, I have been using Umami for a couple of weeks now and I love it. One thing though: metrics are significantly higher than those of Google Analytics. Now, I know that some people use ad blockers that might block GA, as well as some browsers like Brave, might do (not sure). But I think this is still the minority of users, isn't it? What else can explain such a massive difference? For example for today so far for my personal blog Google Analytics says 186 users with 283 page views, while Umami says 299 users with 426 page views. The difference is significant. How trustworthy is the data collected by Umami?
Thanks in advance for any clarification. :)
