In user mode, when opening the map selection on the left side of the screen, the second line often appears beyond the bottom of the screen, which prevents to read the map name. Perhaps one single line with less options would be better.
Can you share a screenshot ? Thanks :)
I answered by mail but the screenshot does not appear here so I join it again.
To overcome this problem, I have set the button as always visible so it shifted upwards and both rows are visible. But the second line of the legends only appears when the mouse is over the mini [map.]
And one last question: how are the ten cards selected? I frequently use three maps in edit mode (IGN Plan, IGN Aerial Image and OpenTopoMap). Only the last two used appear in the selection next to eight others that I don't use. Would it be possible to keep only the used cards and keep them all.
But besides that, thank you to all the developers for all this work...

We'll work on this.

This is the expected behaviour. Names are sometimes very long, so displaying them all would eat too much space of the map preview.

By the admin of a given uMap instance/server. So I guess you refer to osm-fr one ? In that case, there is no real admin atm, it's a bit shared between a few people (including me), and this selection have not been really done.
Regarding the last point I think we did not understand each other well so I change the question to a suggestion:
I think it would be great if the set of basemaps available to the user in user mode was a set chosen by the map creator themselves during editing. For example, in France, I frequently switch between four base maps: Opentopomap, OSM, Plan IGN and Satellite Imagery. I would like all of these maps to be available in user mode (either by me or an external user). And, by the way, we could display them on a single line, putting aside those that are not really useful.
Thanks to have adressed issue #1034 : Feature request, simplify map background selection. This is a good enhancement. However, a few problems remains :
