Dynamic Root – no option to edit query step + content type IDs displayed #15857

Which Umbraco version are you using? (Please write the exact version, example: 10.1.0)

13.2

Bug summary

When configuring the new "Dynamic Root" feature of the Multi Node Tree Picker, selecting a Nearest / Furthest Ancestor / Descendant + content types only displays the content type ID / Guid in the preview.

Screenshot 2024-03-08 at 19 27 51

Furthermore there is no obvious option to edit a query step once defined – I tried clicking, dragging, etc...

Specifics

No response

Steps to reproduce

  1. Create a new "Multinode Tree Picker" data type
  2. Under "Node type" select "Specify a Dynamic Root"
  3. Select "Add query step"
  4. Select any of the Nearest / Furthest Ancestor / Descendant options
  5. Select one or many content types
  6. Select "Submit" to save
  7. The preview shows the Guids for the selected content types

Expected result / actual result

I would expect the content type name or the content type alias to show in the preview

I would also expect there to be an "Edit" button within each query step, alongside "Remove", that when clicked presents the content type picker dialog again – or triggered by clicking on the step itself

Hi there @callumbwhyte!

Firstly, a big thank you for raising this issue. Every piece of feedback we receive helps us to make Umbraco better.

We really appreciate your patience while we wait for our team to have a look at this but we wanted to let you know that we see this and share with you the plan for what comes next.

We wish we could work with everyone directly and assess your issue immediately but we're in the fortunate position of having lots of contributions to work with and only a few humans who are able to do it. We are making progress though and in the meantime, we will keep you in the loop and let you know when we have any questions.

Thanks, from your friendly Umbraco GitHub bot :robot: :slightly_smiling_face:
