Tour 3 recurring issue on step 3/4 #16268

Open cpboyd opened 2 months ago

cpboyd commented 2 months ago

Which Umbraco version are you using? (Please write the exact version, example: 10.1.0)

13.3.0

Bug summary

Created brand new dotnet project from template. Followed the first 2 tours, copying+pasting sample text exactly. After clicking the 3 dots on step 3 of tour 3, I get the Oh, we got lost! error.

Specifics

I've double-checked that everything from the first 2 tours matched as expected (and specifically Allow as root)

Steps to reproduce

  1. Created brand new dotnet project from template.
  2. Followed the first 2 tours, copying+pasting sample text exactly.
  3. After clicking the 3 dots on step 3 of tour 3, I get the Oh, we got lost! error.

Expected result / actual result

Should be able to proceed, but even better would be the option to skip specific steps and/or tours.

I can't even start tour 4 without finishing tour 3 and Googling indicates this is a recurring issue: https://our.umbraco.com/packages/starter-kits/the-starter-kit/feedback/94137-getting-started-tour https://our.umbraco.com/forum/using-umbraco-and-getting-started/90616-tour-issue

Hi there @cpboyd!

Firstly, a big thank you for raising this issue. Every piece of feedback we receive helps us to make Umbraco better.

We really appreciate your patience while we wait for our team to have a look at this but we wanted to let you know that we see this and share with you the plan for what comes next.

We wish we could work with everyone directly and assess your issue immediately but we're in the fortunate position of having lots of contributions to work with and only a few humans who are able to do it. We are making progress though and in the meantime, we will keep you in the loop and let you know when we have any questions.

Thanks, from your friendly Umbraco GitHub bot :robot: :slightly_smiling_face:
