Content Tree does not show content items with Updated Saved Content that has not been published #16324

Which Umbraco version are you using? (Please write the exact version, example: 10.1.0)

V14 RC3

Bug summary

When an editor updates content in Umbraco and Saves it, (but doesn't publish it), then the content tree icon for that content item gains a little tiny green overlay indicator that communicates at a glance that the item has been updated but not been published.

image

This is super useful when using a CMS to manage your content, as you can get a quick indicator or reminder or help with troubleshooting, that something that was updated, hasn't actually been published!

In V14 RC3, if you update content and save it there is no indicator :-(

Specifics

No response

Steps to reproduce

Edit some content on a page and click save (but don't publish) - look at the item in the content tree

In earlier versions of Umbraco it would gain a little green + indicator - showing the item has been edited but not published

image

in V14 RC3 it is not there.

Expected result / actual result

I'd expect it to be indicated in the content tree that the underlying content item had been updated but not published

Hi there @marcemarc!

Firstly, a big thank you for raising this issue. Every piece of feedback we receive helps us to make Umbraco better.

We really appreciate your patience while we wait for our team to have a look at this but we wanted to let you know that we see this and share with you the plan for what comes next.

We wish we could work with everyone directly and assess your issue immediately but we're in the fortunate position of having lots of contributions to work with and only a few humans who are able to do it. We are making progress though and in the meantime, we will keep you in the loop and let you know when we have any questions.

Thanks, from your friendly Umbraco GitHub bot :robot: :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi @marcemarc, thanks for testing. I can reproduce this on RC4.
