CelenaLuna commented 2 hours ago

Which Umbraco version are you using? (Please write the exact version, example: 10.1.0)

14.2.0

Bug summary

When trying to upload video with Upload Field (including in Media), the video shown, can be view and you allow to click save/publish. However, when check the video in content/media again, it is empty

Specifics

Upload Field seem to take time to cache the file but instead of wait for the cache process to finished and avaliable to upload, Umbraco allow to save then move on. In further inspection, I saw the file indeed upload but stuck in cache folder. I suspect that it still try to upload in the background after save/publish content but Save/Publish phase already pass long ago Techincally, you could wait few minutes for the file uploaded to the server before save/publish it. But there is no indication to show it was finished. End-User also didn't know that they have to wait for the file to upload

Steps to reproduce

2nd way

Expected result / actual result

Check the Video Media/Content that just save/publish, the Upload Field is empty

Hi there @CelenaLuna!

Firstly, a big thank you for raising this issue. Every piece of feedback we receive helps us to make Umbraco better.

We really appreciate your patience while we wait for our team to have a look at this but we wanted to let you know that we see this and share with you the plan for what comes next.

We wish we could work with everyone directly and assess your issue immediately but we're in the fortunate position of having lots of contributions to work with and only a few humans who are able to do it. We are making progress though and in the meantime, we will keep you in the loop and let you know when we have any questions.

Thanks, from your friendly Umbraco GitHub bot :robot: :slightly_smiling_face:
