Not able to use Multi Url Picker link names as labels in a Block List #17689

Open vhuzii opened 1 day ago

vhuzii commented 1 day ago

Which Umbraco version are you using? (Please write the exact version, example: 10.1.0)

14.3.0

Bug summary

There is no way to use complex labels like links[0].name when configuring Block Editor Label Properties. The label can use UFW markup to display values of properties but it doesn't work when using embedded properties of an object, e.g., link names in multi URL picker. It was possible to use such link names in Umbraco v13

Specifics

image

Steps to reproduce

  1. Go to Settings in Umbraco Backoffice.
  2. Add an element type with Multi Url Picker property. Property name and alias should be links.
  3. Go to Data Types -> Create a new data type. When creating select Block List type in Property editor section.
  4. In the Available Blocks selector, select an element type with Multi Url picker. As a label put {=links[0].name}. Click save.
  5. Create document type with template, allow at root. Add a new property with the created blocklist.
  6. Go to content and create a root element, click save and publish.
  7. Add created block list to root element content. Select a root element link. Click save and publish.

Expected result / actual result

Expected:

Link names are shown in backofice preview content

Actual:

Link name are not shown in backofice preview content

Hi there @vhuzii!

Firstly, a big thank you for raising this issue. Every piece of feedback we receive helps us to make Umbraco better.

We really appreciate your patience while we wait for our team to have a look at this but we wanted to let you know that we see this and share with you the plan for what comes next.

We wish we could work with everyone directly and assess your issue immediately but we're in the fortunate position of having lots of contributions to work with and only a few humans who are able to do it. We are making progress though and in the meantime, we will keep you in the loop and let you know when we have any questions.

Thanks, from your friendly Umbraco GitHub bot :robot: :slightly_smiling_face:
