Issue description

Hello Everyone, Good Day.

It is nice to see if there is a Umbraco Cloud report viewer for umbraco content comparison for Dev, Staging and Live Environment to see the difference between them. e.g.

Development Staging Live Content / Url Name --- Created by --- Edited by -- etc. "" ""

Regards, Ivan

Hiya @ivan-balio,

Just wanted to let you know that we noticed that this issue got a bit stale and might not be relevant any more.

We will close this issue for now but we're happy to open it up again if you think it's still relevant (for example: it's a feature request that's not yet implemented, or it's a bug that's not yet been fixed).

To open it this issue up again, you can write @umbrabot still relevant in a new comment as the first line. It would be super helpful for us if on the next line you could let us know why you think it's still relevant.

For example:

@umbrabot still relevant This bug can still be reproduced in version x.y.z

This will reopen the issue in the next few hours.

Thanks, from your friendly Umbraco GitHub bot :robot: :slightly_smiling_face:

@AndyButland Can you move this one over to the Deploy tracker? I know that this feature is currently WIP.

AndyButland commented 2 years ago

Yes, I think really we have a duplicate request for this - this one, that's complete, and this one that suggests some additions that we are working on. Hence think we can close this one now we have a reference to those existing issues.

Hi @AndyButland It's me again :-) I think what @ivan-balio is asking for here is something I've been trying to build myself, but due to the way deployments are logged (Always using the "Administrator" user, and showing the date that the DEPLOYMENT occurred, rather than transferring over the "source" item's Edited User and Date) It's been rather imperfect.

I do think there is a need for a whole-site comparison dashboard, so that it's easier to keep environments sync'd when there are multiple devs/content editors working on things. My original post was closed when you released the single-node "compare" tool, but there is a lot more which would make Deploy super user-friendly.

Ps. Having comparison tools would make it easier to only deploy/restore changed items, rather than just doing the whole tree. Might reduce some other issues like https://github.com/umbraco/Umbraco-CMS/issues/14195 and https://github.com/umbraco/Umbraco.Deploy.Issues/issues/179
