Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. We do have front-end and back-end checks in place. We will add apostrophes to the deny list for these email checks. We acknowledge the importance of ensuring a seamless and consistent user experience in Umbraco Cloud Portal and the creation of users in Umbraco ID.
But please note, that apostrophes are typically not allowed in the local part of an email address, which is the portion before the "@" symbol. The standards for email addresses are defined in the Internet standards document RFC 5322 and the extended standard RFC 6530 for international characters. According to these standards, the local part of an email address can include certain special characters, but the apostrophe is not commonly supported by most email systems and service providers.
We will update this thread when the checks are aligned across the Umbraco Cloud portal and Umbraco ID.
Issue description
Emails with an apostrophe are accepted when inviting someone to your Umbraco project via the portal, but not when they try and accept/create an account.
