I'm checking the per-event branch size for FS and TO, BEFORE doing a postprocesing.
There's decent reduction in per-event size:
Note that we've removed many branches from the output ntuple already.

@afernez we probably should ask this question to the DaVinci mailing list, that is: for run 2 analysis that still uses legacy DaVinci, can we remove output branches at DaVinci level?
I could message the mailing list--noting the DaVinci version we use and basically just asking if there's a way to specify for some subset of output branches to be dropped--sure. I don't currently have a good feeling for what can be dropped, though. Are you expecting a significant fraction?
Checking out the tables listed in https://github.com/umd-lhcb/lhcb-ntuples-gen/issues/93#issuecomment-1003468956, I think many angular variables might not be needed.
I guess if we drop many of the angular variables (e.g. mu_CosTheta
), we can save some storage space on lxplus for step-1 ntuples.
We need to think about this to save some disk space on EOS. Currently I have the following idea:
d0_HLT1_TrackMVA_TOS || d0_HLT1_TwoTrackMVA_TOS
, and its filtering efficiency (w/o any requirement on L0 trigger) is about 92%
