[UMMZ Birds 148744] Spelaeornis longicaudatus - Incorrect identification #107

Kindly update the catalog

As per Rasmussen & Anderton (2005): Pp:436 this is chocolatinus.

"and listing for 'Tackubama ... Khasia hills' based on misidentified chocolatinus from Nagaland (examined, UMMZ-PCR)."

And must be referring to this specimen.

I'll check with Pam, but the note in our database says "Koelz identified as S. chocolatinus; Pam Rasmussen identified as S. longicaudatus"

Hi Janet, Apologies - this is an old, unresolved issue - if you can just check the original label of the specimen, we will get the answer.

Its almost certain that this should be a chocolatinus - consistent with the maps in Rasmussen & Anderton (2012).
