Package Remark42 for inclusion in the Cloudron app store #865

A number of people have expressed interest in having Remark42 available in the Cloudron app store as an alternative to Commento, which is already available there. This could be a great way to grow the Remark42 user base.

Typically, apps get packaged up by the project team in accordance with the app packaging guidelines, and then the Commento team makes sure that the app gets updated whenever you ship a new release.

@umputun, would you be interested in getting Remark42 into the app store? If so, here's everything you need to know:

Hi Remark42 team, I am one of the Cloudron founders and we are more than happy to work together on a package for Cloudron.

From what I see it's a SaaS with a small free tier, I wonder if we should invest time into enabling our package into a system somebody else is making a profit of. I wouldn't mind doing packaging for something like homebrew which is free for everyone, but Cloudron is in a grey area for me. Let's see what Umputun thinks.

Whoever will put Remark42 there wouldn't be me. @nebulade, feel free to put it there if you see that your users are interested in it.

@paskal thanks for letting us know. For clarification, Cloudron is a selfhosted platform, not a SaaS as such. Our goal is to make self-hosting easier, so our users bring their own infra. Cloudron also provides app packages, but we don't sell them as such. The 2 apps limit is basically to be seen as the free tier to try Cloudron in the first place.

As a heads up, @vladimirdulov is looking to package remkark42 at https://git.cloudron.io/cloudron/remark42-app/ . I think the main blocker is email integration. He has submitted a PR for that at https://github.com/go-pkgz/email/pull/19 . He will send a PR shortly to make that configurable in remark42 .
