Is there a reason turning off the linter is better than just fixing the errors it raises?

Ok. I mean, you aren't wrong @jforgue. I just wanted to get rid of the never-ending lint messages for the meantime. However, it's not that big of a deal. We might want to consider fixing the errors it raises.
