uWSGI appreciation #2454

Hi folks,

This is not an issue or a bug or a feature request or anything like that. It's a public message of appreciation for this project.

As a uWSGI user, who uses it all the time in the main project I work on, I got really sad to learn that the project entered on maintenance mode. Kinda feels like uWSGI is slowly saying "goodbye". And I don't feel like the open-source community has shown as much appreciation for this project as it deserves: it's a fantastic piece of software, it does truly amazing things, from plain old serving HTTP applications (but in an absurdly fast way) to inter-process shared caching, it's a tool that has been useful to me in many aspects. It's been at least 4 years since I've been a hardcore user of it, and I still love it. I love how fast it is, how super reliable it is - this thing is an ironclad!!! -, and how flexible it is.

Anyway, it's sad to know that the project has entered maintenance-only mode, but I hope that if there's anyone out there wishing to take on the challenge of building a successor for it gets inspired by the great software that uWSGI is.

Thank you all! :-)

@diogobaeder thanks a lot for your kind words! me and @xrmx worked on it for more than 10 years so your 'issue' is really appreciated. Obviously we will continue in doing our best to keep to project 'alive', but any new maintainer/contributor will be highly welcomed

I would like to help you with maintaining the project. I have paid open source time and interest in this great project.

Such a wonderful project. I've been using it for more than 10 years, it is a versatile tool that has greatly simplified so many deployments. And it has a sense of humor too :)
