duration of the quiz?
Which one are we doing? -- the quiz should be conducted for all the students at the same time if we reveal the solutions and score immediately after the quiz ends. OR -- students can take the quiz at their convenience during any time on the day, provided we do not reveal the solutions and score immediately after the quiz ends.

Good questions! I'm thinking 30 minutes for duration, and that students can take the quiz at their convenience, and we'll reveal the solutions the following day. What do you guys think?

If the 'level of difficulty' and 'the number of questions' remain the same as fall 2019, then I feel that 20 minutes should be sufficient. maybe we can increase by 5 more minutes.

Yes, I agree with students taking the quiz at their convenience and revealing the solutions the following day. In my opinion, let us not reveal the scores immediately after the quiz ends. Please let me know what you think?

Great point from @telidevaravind - some answers are matrices!
Difference between 2 concepts in text box is difficult, maybe these can be multiple choice!
@telidevaravind proposed transition some question to multiple choice but leaving some free response.
@RohanBhosale4229 can give option to submit pictures/scans of images
@telidevaravind likes the idea, so does @stephencwelch, but they worry a bit about the extra time/logistics

Proposal

Let's figure out quiz 1 together
Based on the content of quiz 1, let's make any needed changes
If we think it would make for a better quiz or easier grading, let's consider the picture/scan option

If it is a picture/scan option, it would no longer be a quiz. It would be more of an open-book homework type. If we stick to the picture/scan option, I would suggest making the questions a bit tougher or lengthy so that students would work on the solution part. If we stick to an online quiz, we need to figure out how to rephrase questions that have matrices as an answer. Let me know what you think.
