Product IDs and batch/serial IDs

I'm opening this issue as a place holder for a discussion around product IDs and batch or serial IDs. A couple of points:

In the GS1 system, a batch or serial number is only unique within the the class of products identified by the GTIN. That is, the same batch or serial number can be used for different products - because those products are identified differently.
An ISO 18975 URI can include any level of granularity. So those batch and serial numbers (and much else besides) can all be included in the identifier.

I think these issues may affect the way the different tables in the DPP spec are modelled?

I've had a go at reflecting that in the v0.4.0 model with the array of identifiers for each of product, batch, and item. Each identifier can be a simple value and/or a URI. You can browse the model here https://jargon.sh/user/unece/DigitalProductPassport/v/working/artefacts/readme/render - but it's not merged to the site yet.

That makes sense @onthebreeze, yes. I wonder whether as well as the individual data points for product ID, batch ID and instance ID it might also be useful to have something like a 'combined ID' or "ID as encoded on the item"
