[Bug]: Cannot open this app: Your IT administrator has disabled Windows Security. Contact your IT help desk. #384

Description

I disabled Microsoft Defender in privacy over security and when i tried re enabling it with the revert option, it said "Cannot open this app: Your IT administrator has disabled Windows Security. Contact your IT help desk.".

Reproduction steps

  1. run the Disable Microsoft Defender script in privacy over security
  2. run it again with the revert option

Expected behavior

i excepted the Microsoft Defender being re enabled

Hi, I deleted your posts as they're too long and makes this issue hard to follow.

Can you please attach them as txt files?


Reverting whole disable defender category should resolve this.

These are most likely scripts that sets UILockdown, searching for UILockdown gives these:

These should already be reverted once you revert Defender category though.

first script: 1.txt second script: 2.txt i tried reverting the whole disable microsoft defender category again, and i got this error rZjeE3yIRLSK

@nigritoz The real time protection of Microsoft Defender automatically gets enabled even though we tried to disable. Please see if it got enabled or not. If its disabled send us snapshot of your task manager.

I restarted my pc and it works again, thx tho
