Continuation character no longer renders #127

E.g.,:

essential-slick-3 pdf page 15 of 191 2017-01-09 14-27-01

Could be a font issue (have we changed font?). Could be a rendering pipeline problem.

However, now that the code is wrapping in LaTeX, we may not need the continuation character....
