We should update the COPYING FILE and add an acknowledgement to the stripack python project for inspiration. AuScope open source is typically LGPL or BSD.

As far as I can tell LGPL allows users to modify the code and integrate it with other programs so long as you give back the source code, whereas BSD says "here is the source code, do whatever you want but we accept no liability". Which sounds better to you?
