Selecting icons: Missing categories #233

Open alexthegreat100 opened 6 months ago

alexthegreat100 commented 6 months ago

Is there an existing issue for this?

Description

If icons are uploaded via "Settings" -> "Resources", they can be categorised (e.g. "icon", "TV channel icon" etc.). These categories can then be selected to the right of the search field.

If, for example, I go to an activity via "Activities & Macros" and then "Customise user interface" to assign a tv channel logo to a button (click on "Pen" -> click on "Icon"), I no longer have these categories to choose from. Only icons can be selected.

There is no way to select the previously categorised TV channel icons anywhere in the Web Configurator interface.

How to Reproduce

  1. Go to "Settings"
  2. Click on "Ressources"
  3. Click on any icon that you want to change. The pop-up window to choose or upload an icon will not show the categories tabs.

Expected behavior

Always display the categories when selecting icons, images, etc.

System version

v1.5.2

What part of the system affected by the problem?

Web Configurator

Additional context

No response

If I remember correctly the tv channel icons will be used for a separate tv channel ui component which is not yet implemented.

Aha! Ok. My thought was that this UI window already exists in Settings -> Resources. Therefore, you could reference it directly in other icon settings or call it up instead of one with less information.

TV channel icons cannot be used yet in the UI, but it is a planned feature. The icon management is already implemented. However, we shouldn't have enabeld it yet in the web-configurator. Sorry for the confusion. I'll keep this issue open until it is implemented.
