"Jump to page" and other functions on activity buttons #267

Is there an existing issue for this?

Description

While in an activity I would like to be able to define a button that jumps to a different page or device. For instance, I would like to have lighting buttons on my activity that jump to my light group so I can change color or brightness without ever leaving the activity.

This would also be incredibly useful for organizing app buttons and other similar controls, as the swipe feature to change pages isn't as intuitive for normal users as it could be.

This could take to form of a pop up window, or a quick jump to another page that returns back to the main activity page.

The main ui already shows a list of all pages if you tap on the name of a page. I think the top bar in every activity is maybe just hiding the name page under it? Unfortunately, there is no way to hide this bar.

The issues is to within a macro jump to a page, not pick it in web configurator. Maybe i was unclear or not understanding your comment. The point waa to not manually pick it.

I think the ability to setup a soft button on the screen to go back to one of the home screens (main UI pages) would be very useful. I have set my R2 up in a similar way to my Harmony with two home screens (main UI), one for activities and one for devices.

If inside an activity, I could setup two soft buttons to go to either activities or devices (main UI pages), that would free up the physical home button to be used inside the activity. I know that you can use the Home button now, but this would make it more friendly.

I’m looking at this to make the remote family friendly and an easier transition from the Harmony. I understand that the R2 will ultimately be much more powerful than the Harmony and will allow new ways to interact, but this ability would help in transition. Also, being able to jump to other pages opens up lots of options.

@WillTriumph1 I was referring to the remote ui not the web configurator. It's not a direct link to a page but it at least doesn't require swiping through all pages. Direct links to all devices from an activity also exists if you tap on the activity top bar.

Understand, like the shut of devices that should just be set to shut off, not make a person pull down a menu. The point is to program the remote vs require humans to do pull downs, but i appreciate the clarification.

I think the point was also to link to main ui pages from an activity and not to pages within activities. Unfortunately they both use use the same term. This is not possible yet.

Yes, sorry, didn’t mean to sound like a jerk.
