[feature request] Design of error messages outside of Activities #294

Is there an existing issue for this?

Description

I see the most error messages on the subject of "Connection to dock not established". However, these are displayed in different ways. If I am in an activity, I see a small red banner at the top of the screen. However, if I am outside an activity and want to start or end an activity, a large red "X" appears on the screen, which I first have to click on. It then says "Error" under the activity. If I click on the activity again, a pop-up appears from below and asks whether I want to switch the activity on or off. I find this behaviour (outside of activities) a bit annoying, to say the least. A small red banner at the top would be enough for me. I would also like the switching on/off sequence to simply be repeated when I press on an activity again and not have to click through a pop-up menu to switch off the "error status" of the activity. The last status of the devices should now be known to the remote control thanks to the power on/off logic.

At the risk of stating the obvious: maybe instead of investing time in polishing the UI of an error message, get rid of the error in the first place... especially considering that "connection to dock not established" is basically an event that happens on every single use of the remote and is beyond frustrating.

On the one hand, you're right... I have already submitted a suggestion to improve this (#295) On the other hand, this is an "error message" that is definitely justified! I just wouldn't place it in such a way that it disrupts the "workflow" even more.
