I'm currently integrating an Nvidia Shield with my system, but I've encountered an issue where the media player does not display metadata or artwork for the content being played. Conversely, my Home Assistant setup with an Android media player does show this information.
To streamline my user interface and avoid the duplication of media player entities during an activity, I propose adding a feature that allows us to override or reassign the media player of an activity with another entity. Specifically, it would be useful to replace the Nvidia Shield's media player entity with the one from Home Assistant that is already showing the correct metadata and artwork.
This enhancement would simplify the management of media entities and improve the overall user experience by providing consistent and complete media information across different platforms.
Is there an existing issue for this?
