(Finally) Move to Java 8 #277

After releasing version 2.8.0 we are going to refactor the library, remove deprecated stuff, change a few defaults, and release the 3.0.0 version with support for streams, LocalTime and friends, etc.

Version 2.8.* will be updated and maintained for compatibility with Java 6 to whoever needs it.

Better late than never :)
