Additional comments:

The team will put together a clear vision for the project which may include: -> Objectives of the pilot in relation to UNICEF, CP, Online safety strategy and PG’s/CP business needs. -> Positioning of the application in the market i.e. where does it fit against similar engines by Google, FB and other companies. Two potential benefits discussed in the call were:

Using the API for internal tools Developing a trusted DPG service/API free from commercial interests.

-> Establishing use cases

The OOI is requesting inputs from CP, Safeguarding unit as they continue developing and piloting the product to find the right balance between the functionality offered and safety/privacy of data and children while piloting. In particular the team will reach re: questions that may arise on the below to ensure the right controls are in place and that risk is mitigated and pilot objectives are met:

Training the algorithm Partnering with TurkCell

ICTD/BRM to stay in touch with both teams to foster alignments.

Next steps:

• OOI to talk to CP, Online Safeguarding Unit to refine vision for project/pilot
• OOI to loop in PG/CP, EO to discuss risk mitigation measures as piloting proceeds
