Programmes Plant

Scenario: single how to apply box in the programmes plant Given that I’m a user When I navigate to a programme page on the programmes plant Then I should see a single text box for ‘how to apply’

Scenario: separate FT and PT how to apply overridable fields Given that I’m a user When I navigate to the overridable fields page on the programmes plant Then I should see a text box for ‘how to apply (full-time)’ And a text box for ‘how to apply (part-time)’

Of-Course

Scenario: customised how to apply text displayed for an of-course page Given that I’m a user When I navigate to the ‘how to apply’ tab on of-course X page And programme X has ‘how to apply’ text Then I should see the ‘how to apply’ text related to course X

Scenario: overridable text displayed if NO customised text for that programme Given that I’m a user When I navigate to the ‘how to apply’ tab on of-course X page And course X has NO ‘how to apply’ text Then I should see the overridable ‘how to apply’ text related to course X

Scenario: overridable text displayed correlates with mode of study Given that I’m a user When I view the ‘how to apply’ tab on of-course X page And programme X has a full time mode of study Then I should see the overridable ‘how to apply (full time)’ text related to programme X

Scenario: overridable FT and PT text displayed Given that I’m a user When I view the ‘how to apply’ tab on of-course X page And course X has a full time OR part time mode of study Then I should see the overridable ‘how to apply (full time) text related to course X

Hi, can this issue be given priority now the live system has been rolled out to test schools please? it will be difficult to amend these fields afterwards if any of them override the information before this is done. Also Nick Thurston needs this function for the SITS data. Thanks very much.

Also, please note, the blue 'overridable' drop-down/button on the 'How to apply' field on the programme page should show content which is the overridable text for full-time + the overridable text for part-time. This is so users can see both overridable pieces of content and copy, paste and edit it if needed.

Hi @Angelamariewatson @frithassell @miowmix - this has been added to the live Programmes Plant - feel free to populate it with MCR codes, we can then work with you on how it needs to be presented in the of-course front-end.

Hi sorry but I can't see what I was expecting to see on the live plant. There should now be two overridable fields on the overridable fields form - one for 'How to apply (part-time)' and 'How to apply (full-time)'. The content of these fields should output logically depending on whether the programme is pt, ft or both. Both fields should be overidden by the single 'how to apply' field on the programme form.

I can see the MCR code field on the programme form - but that's not part of this story?

@Angelamariewatson I think we got our wires crossed between this and another story! Apols!

Hi this story is marked as in progress - is it too late to change something on it? Ideally we would also include a separate 'How to apply' info field for Medway full-time students which only outputs if Medway and full-time is selected so that the text under the existing 'How to apply' tab which reads..

'If you are applying for courses based at Medway, you should add the campus code K in Section 3(d).' only outputs for full-time Medway courses. If it's easier to re-write this story from scratch let me know.

aw285-unikent commented 11 years ago

Hi why is this one blocked?

msf4-unikent commented 11 years ago

I think whilst we are pending the discussion with SITS to ensure that we are all on the same songsheet with regard to apply, enquire etc.

aw285-unikent commented 11 years ago

I think this one is more about making the how to apply message that already outputs more campus and full-time/part-time specific.

Fritha and I discussed the required functionality yesterday and the story can probably be re-written as:

As EMS

I would like three overridable fields where we can add 'how to apply' content:

[1] How to apply (full-time) (use the existing 'How to apply' overridable field for this but rename it, we will edit the content). [2] How to apply (Medway full-time) [3] How to apply (part-time)

There should be three corresponding overridable fields on the prorgamme page form.

[1] The 'How to apply' (full-time) field will contain the following content:

"Full-time applicants

Full-time applicants (including international applicants) should apply through the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) system. If you need help or advice on your application, you should speak with your careers advisor or contact UCAS Customer Contact Centre. You can also write to UCAS at:

UCAS Customer Contact Centre, PO Box 28, Cheltenham GL52 3LZ

The institution code number of the University of Kent is K24, and the code name is KENT."

[2] The 'How to apply (Medway full-time) field will contain the following content:

"If you are applying for courses based at Medway, you should add the campus code K in Section 3(d)."

[3] The 'How to apply (part-time) field will contain the following content:

"Part-time applicants

Part-time students should apply directly to the University. There is no fixed closing date, but you should apply for your programme as early a possible. You can apply online. If you need more advice on making an application or choosing your programme, please contact the Recruitment and Admissions Office: T: +44 (0)1227 827272 Freephone (UK only): 0800 975 3777 E: information@kent.ac.uk"

Field [1] should output if the course can be studied full-time

Field [2] Should only output if the course can be studied at Medway and full-time

Field [3] Should only output if the course can be studied part-time.

Would it make sense to close this story and just add the story above as a new story to avoid confusion?

Re-animated as story #570
