Hi both just tagging you into the issue (above).
Hi @eg270-unikent @lrhm-unikent
Would it be possible to squeeze this one into a BAU day soon please?
As time goes on, Fritha and I are having difficulty keeping track of who is the admin for what school and this would really help us.
Many thanks
Angela
@aw285-unikent just spoken with Foo and he informs me that a users ''school' should be available from LDAP, so we shouldn't need this in the new user form.
@eg270-unikent can we prioritise for next Thurs/Fri. This was the response from Foo: "then yes, there are two attributes: unikentODdepartment is the long form department name from the Online Directory or, failing that, fall back to "unikentdepartment" which is a far more cryptic but guaranteed to be there value from Admin"
Hi - can you clarify what the action of this issue is? Is it just adding the unikentODdepartment as a user (with admin rights?) to progs plant?
@eg270-unikent just to add a column called 'school' to this table https://webtools-test.kent.ac.uk/programmes/users and populate is from LDAP for each user.
Hi @aw285-unikent this has been rolled to live now. There are a few users with missing schools and we need to finish editing the user list on webtools-test
@eg270-unikent OK thank you. Do you know why the users have missing schools? Is it because they have left?
@aw285-unikent I believe so, I've checked the accounts without schools and it looks like their passwords have expired as they haven't logged in to the University network for a number of months. There is one user who has logged in quite recently but there is a note on her account saying it is a recent-alumnified staff/PGR account
As EMS
I would like to add a 'School field' to the new user form (the form that allows us to add new users to the programmes plant) and also to the table that lists all the users in the programmes plant.
So that we can see which school each users belongs to and email schools from time to time to check if those people still need permissions.
At the moment, it is difficult to track who belongs to which school and when staff leave or resign they can still have permissions for the programmes plant as we aren't always alerted to the fact that they have left. Are staff removed from LDAP when they leave as I wondered if we could link the users up to LDAP somehow so we are alerted to the fact they have left?
To save space in the user table, you could just have 'H' for 'hyperadmin' and 'U' for "user' in the 'roles' column.
Thanks
Angela
