Include local site search checkbox in global search header #830

Suggestion

Have a "This site only" checkbox underneath the "Search the University" field in the global header that allows users to refine their search to return results only within the current subdomain.

When checked, this box would simply add a site:law.unimelb.edu.au to the search term, based on which subdomain the user submitted the search from - in this case, law.unimelb.edu.au

Most everyday users don't know about the site:law.unimelb.edu.au search trick to search only within a specific site. Having a simple non-intrusive checkbox to provide this option would relieve a lot of frustration from users who would like to search a specific site and don't know how. (Especially helpful when searching for documents, which can be a nightmare when the search is too broad i.e. university wide) Anything to make search more user friendly and user-needs-oriented is a step in the right direction, and there is definitely a need for this sort of feature due to the lack of knowledge on search commands such as site:.

Steps to reproduce

Typing in "events" while on a page within law.unimelb.edu.au would yield: image
