Caetla stuck in japanese language #16

I have the latest version of unirom 8 installed on a gameshark pro v3.2 and I'm using an scph:5501 console. Tried going to the language menu for caetla and changing it to English. Nothing happens when pressing "x". "O" just brings me back to the previous menu. Is there some kind of "apply" button for this?

Can you give the EEPROM specs from the status screen ? Or are you able to open the cart to tell the chip that's in it ?
